Any platform and any operating system can be used as the PrefixNE repository, so long as it reflects an NFS (Network File System) compatible with win32. This applies to NT, Novell-NetWare, VMS, Unix, Linux and others. However, some Microsoft platforms suffer from inherited limitations in design (see the article on XP limits on the Microsoft website). For Microsoft OSs, we recommend using an Windows NT or Windows 2000 server. |
