Home | PrefixNE in Action | Case Studies Hermitage Housing Homes in on Prefix Date Added: Sun May 13 2007 Hermitage Housing, part of The Guinness Partnership, has selected PrefixNE to provide an effective asset management solution for the housing association. PrefixNE will replace a manual system and will provide a new level of control and visibility for the organisation’s network assets and 180+ users. Hermitage Housing is known for high quality housing management and support services and aims to provide a speedy response to all its customers, both of these aims ultimately rely on efficient IT systems and support systems. Technology also underpins Hermitage’s ability to provide dynamic and innovative new services to the community. Following an audit of IT systems by The Guinness Partnership it was recommended that Hermitage should move to an automated Asset Management approach to provide better network visibility and control of assets. Leon Aylmer, Information Services Manager, at Hermitage explains: “There are clear benefits to running automated asset management - time and cost savings - and this was something that had been on my wish list for a while although the old system was still functional. The recommendation from The Guinness Partnership provided the impetus for us to address the issue.” Leon’s team conducted extensive market research to identify an appropriate asset management system and identified PrefixNE as a front-runner. “Many competitive products seemed to be extremely expensive and over-featured. PrefixNE has a sensible and pragmatic approach and was a good fit for our requirements as well as being realistically priced. Also, we liked Prefix’ modular approach and felt that as well as meeting our immediate requirements, the software’s other modules could give us a host of other benefits in the future.” Following a successful trial of the software, Hermitage proceeded to implementation which was straightforward and problem-free. Leon’s team found that Prefix’s pre-sales support was very thorough, helpful and business-like. “We feel confident not only in the software but in the organisation too,” he confirms.
